Now back to the entry!

The 2000s. Now that's what you call a music era! We had the rise of hip-hop powerhouses, the last great gasps of epic rock bands, and unforgettable pop icons hitting the scene. Whether you were blasting your boombox or secretly rocking out to your iPod Nano, these tunes defined the decade.

So get ready for the ultimate nostalgia trip, because we're counting down the top 6 songs of the 2000s, complete with some juicy behind-the-scenes tidbits!

"Hey Ya!" – Outkast (2003)

This infectious, genre-bending masterpiece from Outkast has one of the most instantly recognizable intros of all time. Its energy is relentless, its lyrics quirky, and Andre 3000's "shake it like a Polaroid picture" line made its way into pop culture history.

Fun fact: The iconic music video, inspired in part by The Beatles' appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, features Andre 3000 playing all eight band members. A true feat!

"Toxic" – Britney Spears (2003)

Britney shed her teen-pop image with this banger, delivering a sultry dance track laden with Eastern-inspired strings and a high-octane beat. "Toxic" confirmed Britney as a lasting force on the pop scene, and its hook is still undeniable.

Fun fact: The diamond bodysuit Spears wears in the video was incredibly expensive to insure. Security on set was extra tight!

"Mr. Brightside" – The Killers (2004)

This timeless anthem by The Killers is pure rock and roll. Jealousy, angst, and a driving guitar riff create a recipe for a song that has outlasted its own decade. "Mr. Brightside" continues to be belted out in karaoke bars and stadiums alike.

Fun fact: The song's iconic video features cameos from actress Izabella Miko and actor Eric Roberts.

"Crazy in Love" – Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z (2003)

Queen Bey and Jay-Z became THE musical power couple with this fiery track. The blaring horns, Beyoncé's fierce vocals, and Jay-Z's killer verse secured the song a place in hip-hop history and made it a wedding dance floor staple ever since!

Fun fact: The song's horn sample is from the Chi-Lites' 1970 track "Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)".

"Yeah!" – Usher featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris (2004)

The ultimate party anthem of the decade! This classic blends Usher's smooth vocals with the hype-man energy of Lil Jon and Ludacris. It's impossible to sit still when this one comes on.

Fun fact: Lil Jon's signature scream of "YEAH!" became a pop culture phenomenon, used everywhere from sports highlights to memes.

"Hips Don't Lie" – Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean (2006)

With irresistible Latin rhythms and Shakira's mesmerizing dance moves, this smash hit was inescapable. From the opening trumpet fanfare to Wyclef's infectious verses, "Hips Don't Lie" cemented Shakira's status as a global superstar.

Fun fact: The song topped the charts in a whopping 55 countries!

There you have it, a small sample of the incredible music the 2000s had to offer.

This is just the tip of the iceberg – countless other anthems defined that era.
